East of Poland Cycling GREEN VELO Trail

The ones relaxing in the Końskie region can start their cycling adventure with the Green Velo trail with the ultimate stops at, either Końskie or Elbląg. The route runs across 5 provinces of Eastern Poland (warmińsko-mazurskie [Warmian–Masurian Voivodeship], podlaskie [Podlasie/Podlesia voivodship], lubelskie [Lublin voivodship], podkarpackie [Subcarpathian voivodeship] & świętokrzyskie [Holy Cross voivodship]) and amounts to 2000 km.

The trail connects unique diverse attractions, landscapes, tastes, stories and impressions. The entire trail is marked with metal plates in characteristic orange colour, against whose background there is a logo of the trail and a black bike. Additionally, at the junctions there have been orange information plates and signposts introduced. Those travelling along the route can have a rest at the Facilities of Cyclist Services or make use of the offer of Cyclist-Friendly Places.

The trail route across the Końskie commune:

The section of the Green Velo trail in the Końskie region equals 12 km. In order to start one’s adventure with the trail, one needs to make their way to the children’s playground (the so-called „Jordan garden” in Polish) in the town park where there is a Facility of Cyclist Services. The route initially leads along the town streets: ul. Partyzantów and ul. Browarna, and next along the bike path throught the so-called „Browary”. It’s a cosy place, ideal for a short rest and walks: it has reservoirs, benches, fishing platforms, a bridge, chess tables and in the neighbourhood also a historical church of St. Anne. The route runs further along the Katyń Alley, by which there are the Remembrance Oaks, next along ul.  Południowa and ul. Leśna to the bike lane which one can go along to the very Sielpia.

Here one can relax at the next Facility of Cyclist Services located at ul. Spacerowa. The real landmark of the locality, connected with the Gren Velo trail, is a foot- and bike-bridge, constituting a great vantage point over the reservoir. To go on with the trail adventure one needs to turn at the roundabout in Sielpia in the direction of Radoszyce which we will reach by cycling along a comfy asphalt lane.
